Trailer for “Money Heist: Korea” teases a daring escape strategy
Netflix has been providing vault-cracking stories, from the multi-season run of the Spanish crime series Money Heist aka La Casa de Papel to the Korean adaptation, Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area.
Stories of people breaking into very guarded facilities have a powerful allure for many audiences across the world. Now the streamer has released an official teaser for the second season of the Korean adaptation. Everything is out of control, or is it?
We’re going to leave this place tomorrow, the minute-long trailer starts off with a subtly ominous warning. The Professor (Yoo Ji-tae) has led a group of thieves into the mint of a united Korea, just like in the first Spanish-language series.
These bandits have broken into the mint where the unified currency is printed just as the North and South are on the verge of some sort of unification. They intend to leave, whatever that entails.
A task force attempting to break into the mint where the staff is holed up is shown in the trailer along with the aforementioned warning.
The Professor declares boldly that he wants “to let the world know who the true thieves are” as the crew gets ready to flee with the mint’s gold.
The merger of the North and South and the mint itself may have resulted in some shady dealings, which the clever mastermind may have discovered. But a risk has been taken, and an unheard voice could end up being the task force’s “nightmare.”
The Professor reappears on screen to declare that the group intends to flee “among the chaos,” and it appears that they are currently sowing a lot of it.
Now that the heist squad has a collaborator outside, the united task force is aware of this. As the trailer closes and the mayhem on the outside gets a good look, Seoul (Lim Ji-yeon) is identified as that companion.
The series quickly rose in the rankings on Netflix’s viewership charts after the first episode debuted in June. The series was watched on the streamer for an astounding 33.7 million hours in the first three days of its release.
The programme went on to dominate the streamer’s non-English charts and take third place as the third most watched programme overall at the time. The programme continued the successful performance of Korean dramas on Netflix.
There will only be six episodes in this second portion of the series. Part 2 will be directed by Kim Hong-Sun, and the series’ cast will also feature Kim Yunjin, Park Hae-soo, and Jun Jong-seo.
On December 9, Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area Part 2 will make its Netflix debut. Here is a teaser to watch:
