Bob Marley’s grandson, Jo Mersa Marley, passed away at 31 years old. The musician’s rep told the entertainment magazine Rolling Stone on December 27 that the news was true. At this point, it’s not clear what caused the death.

Jo Mersa Marley was born on March 12, 1991, in Kingston, Jamaica. In 2010, he released “My Girl,” on which he worked with his cousin Daniel Bambaata Marley. Two years later, in 2014, he put out an EP called “Comfortable” that had the song “Bad So” on it. “Eternal,” Jo Mersa Marley’s first album, came out in 2021.

In a previous interview with Rolling Stone, the late artist talked about carving out his own place in the business.

“I am one of the new generations of Marleys, but I am still experimenting at the same time. My plan is to do something new with my roots,” he had said.
