Although Henry Cavill won’t be playing Superman again, he is really enthusiastic about his upcoming project.
Henry has lined up his next job after learning on December 14 that he would not reprise his role as Clark Kent in subsequent Superman movies: he will serve as the executive producer and star of Prime Video’s version of the science fantasy war game Warhammer 40,000.
“For 30 years I have dreamt of seeing a Warhammer universe in live action,” Henry wrote in a Dec. 16 Instagram post. “Now, after 22 years of experience in this industry, I finally feel that I have the skill set and experience to guide a Warhammer Cinematic Universe into life.”
Captioned along with a video of the game’s signature logo, he continued, “And having a home like Amazon will give us the freedom to be true to the massive scope of Warhammer. To all of you Warhammer fans out there, I promise to respect this IP that we love. I promise to bring you something familiar. And I endeavour to bring you something fantastic that is, as of yet, unseen.
The heartwarming post ended with him sharing the show’s “first steps,” which he said is to “find our Filmmaker/Creator/Writer.”
In 2022, Henry’s résumé has garnered a lot of attention. The Witcher’s Geralt was played by Liam Hemsworth in season four after the actor revealed he wouldn’t be returning in October. At the moment, he announced on Instagram that he would be laying down his medallion and his swords for Season 4. . “My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season four,” he said. “In my stead, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf.”
That same month, the Superman star announced his return to the superhero role after a cameo in Black Adam. “A very small taste of what’s to come, my friends,” he happily shared on social media. “The dawn of hope renewed. Thank you for your patience, it will be rewarded.”
Sadly, James Gunn and Peter Safran, who now run DC Movies, decided to scrap his comeback to Superman. “Henry posted on Instagram on December 14 that while “my time in the cape has past, what Superman represents for never will. Onward and upwards, it’s been a pleasure travelling with you all.”
Warhammer 40,000 has not yet had a release date specified.
