The Princess of Wales said that her children “wouldn’t forgive her singing.” before a Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey.

Catherine was heard talking to singer Alfie Boe about her own musical skills before the service. She said she needed to take some lessons because her kids probably don’t think she has a good voice.

She said: “On the piano you can slightly hide away a bit more than you can do singing.

“Actually my children probably wouldn’t forgive me – I’m not sure whether they think I’ve got a particularly good singing voice. I’ll have to have some lessons.”

People cheered and yelled “Kate, we love you” and “Prince William, we love you” when Catherine met her husband Prince William and two of her children, George and Charlotte, outside the Abbey.

The event happened just a few hours after the last part of the Sussexes’ documentary was added to Netflix.

On Thursday night, the King, the Queen Consort, and the Prince of Wales went to the Princess of Wales’s holiday concert.

She also talked with Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice before going back outside to greet her husband and two children, who arrived before 5 p.m.

More than 1,800 people are coming to the abbey for the concert, which is being held to honour the “selfless efforts of individuals, families, and communities across the UK” and “celebrate and show off the joy that human connection and togetherness can bring.”

Kensington Palace said that Kate’s second carol service was meant to honour the late Queen and the values she showed throughout her life, such as “duty, empathy, faith, service, kindness, compassion, and support for others.”

The palace said that these values are shared and embodied by the inspiring guests who have been invited to the abbey in recognition of their tireless work to help and care for those around them.

As a nod to the late Queen’s famous sketch, the abbey’s Christmas tree is decorated with small Paddington Bear ornaments. Guests were greeted at the entrance by a snow machine that made snowflakes fall around them.
