In honour of Stan Lee’s 100th birthday, Marvel recently teased a Disney+ documentary about the legendary comic book artist.

The teaser, called “Stan Lee,” was first posted on Instagram on December 29, with the caption “100 years of dreaming. 100 years of making. 100 years of Stan Lee.”

The Hollywood Reporter says that the documentary will honour Stan Lee’s legacy as a comic book writer, editor, publisher, and co-creator of famous characters like Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Black Panther, the Hulk, the X-Men, Thor, Silver Surfer, Ant-Man, Nick Fury, and more.

Lee started making comics in 1939 and became a publisher in 1972. He died in November 2018 at the age of 95. He also had many small roles in Marvel movies and TV shows over the course of his life.

After Lee died, Disney CEO Bob Iger said in a statement, “Stan Lee was as unique as the characters he made.”

Stan Lee Universe and Marvel have an agreement that lasts for 20 years. This lets Marvel use Lee’s name and likeness in movies and other Marvel projects.
