Neil Patrick Harris 49-year-old star of How I Met Your Mother and his hubby, 47, shared a family portrait with their three dogs and 12-year-old twins Harper Grace and Gideon Scott to commemorate the holiday.

Harris posted a photo of the family in front of the tree and the caption, “Merry Christmas and much love from Ella, David, Gideon, Spike, Papa, Harper, and Gidget,” on Instagram. The tree appeared to be decorated with a few Elton John ornaments.

With his horror-loving daughter, Neil Patrick Harris saw “The Shining,” but she wasn’t impressed.
The twins’ nickname for Harris, “Papa,” was displayed on the couple’s festive pyjamas, which they were wearing with their children. The pair is close friends with the music legend. In the comfortable family photo, two of the dogs were even dressed for the season.

The pair sent Instagram tributes on the twins’ birthdays in October, with Harris posting adorable photos of him cuddling each of his children along with a sentimental statement.

“I turn twelve today. Without a doubt, the two best things that have ever occurred to me are Harper and Gideon,” he stated. They give me joy, make me laugh, let me be a flawed father, and fill me with a kind of love I didn’t know was possible.

The Uncoupled star said that his children are “so, so worth it,” even though parenting is “all-consuming” and “the most continually challenging thing David and I have ever done.”

“They are amazing. They are my little ones. I am incredibly proud of who they have been and who they are becoming, and I am just so thankful to have them in my life, he continued, “They are my world.”

Happy 12th GOLDEN Birthday to these amazing children, wrote Burtka beside a photo of the twins on his own Instagram. I can’t believe how quickly everything went by! I am so proud of how you are developing.

“You have the best sense of humor, are kind, empathetic, and caring. Burtka stated, “I am proud to be your father and I can’t wait to see how the next 12 years develop. “I couldn’t have asked for finer children! #goldenbirthday#12on12”
