Paris Hilton sent a message on Instagram regarding “Stars Are Blind (Paris’ Version)” that read, “This song has always meant so much to me, it felt natural to close off 2022 with a revitalized version.”

Thank you to everyone who has always supported my music career. “Seeing my face lighting up Times Square is very special.”

She said that more music will be released in 2023 and said, “I literally have the best fans on the globe and have loved seeing all of your posts about the new song.

Hilton re-recorded her vocals for the new version and collaborated with Fernando Garibay, the track’s original producer. Additionally, she asked Clint Gibbs to remix the album.

With the caption “Me when I have a secret that’s going to break the internet on 12/30,” Hilton hinted at an announcement earlier this week.

She provided more information to her followers the next day: “Me omw to the record studio after User409279 said we need to bring back Y2K pop.” New year, new P, she added.

The Simple Life star’s self-titled first album Paris was published in June 2006, and its initial song was named “Stars Are Blind.” In the 16 years since it peaked at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100, the song has come to be regarded as an overlooked classic.

When writer/director Emerald Fennell used the song in a notable scene from her Oscar-winning film Promising Young Woman in 2020, the song gained fresh life. In a rare instance of humour, Carey Mulligan and Bo Burnham, stars of the critically acclaimed thriller, sung along to the song while walking through a pharmacy.

“One of my favorite songs is that one. For this movie, I needed a song that, if a guy you liked understood every word to, you’d be blown away and know he had good taste, “In December, Fennell spoke with Entertainment Weekly. It’s a fantastic song and one of my all-time favorites.

Hilton has primarily been a DJ lately, but she has also collaborated on songs with artists including Electric Polar Bears for “Melting” in 2021, LODATO for “I Blame You” in 2020, and MATTN for “Lone Wolves” in 2019.

Exclusive to Amazon Music, “Stars Are Blind (Paris’ Version)” is now available..
