Scream VI is possibly the most anticipated movie of all time. Fans of Ghostface recently got their first look at the slasher sequel, which comes out in March, with the publication of its teaser video and poster earlier this week.

One thing is for certain, Ghostface is having a bloody good time in New York City despite the fact that the trailer was the epitome of a teaser.

Many Scream fans are enthusiastic about all the deadly potential because this is the main setting for the franchise. But now that Scream VI’s promotion has reached the Big Apple, Ghostface has penetrated the actual New York City.

Ghostface posted two images of the terrifying brand occupying Time Square on the Scream social media pages. In the new subway-focused image, one depicts Ghostface skulking over the city, and in the other, the movie’s trailer is playing for the villain’s prospective new victims.

Ghostface, whose admirers are well aware, like adding salt to the wound, coupled these photographs with a play on the phrase “I heart NY,” in which the heart was substituted by an emoji for a shattered heart.

Since many members of the cast and crew have hinted that this upcoming sequel is the most vicious movie in the series thus far, Ghostface is hoping to shatter a lot of our hearts this time around.

The Easter egg-filled teaser film didn’t pull any punches either; it concluded with Ghostface smashing Mindy into a subway car window. No one is safe, and if this is just a sample of the tension-filled NYC scenes to come, horror fans are in for a big treat.

Even without a Ghostface or two roaming the streets, New York can be a frightening place. This movie has already drawn comparisons to Jason Takes Manhattan, another famed slasher sequel.

Up until the third act, that mediocre movie was misleading, but Scream VI appears to really embrace its new urban playground. These images might potentially be teasing the fact that Time Square will appear in the movie.

Any horror fan’s fantasy would be to see a classic Scream chase scene in that densely populated environment, so we’re crossing our hopes that Ghostface will be following our favourite characters through the M&M Store. Since the plot of this sequel is still very secret, anything could happen, but New York will definitely be a frightening figure.

Sam (Melissa Barrera), Tara (Jenna Ortega), Mindy (Jasmin Savoy Brown), Chad (Mason Gooding), Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox), and Kirby (Hayden Penettiere) will all be back in Scream VI, once more escaping from Ghostface in the shady streets of New York City, along with new cast members Jack Champion, Dermot Mulroney, Josh Segarra, and Also returning as Ghostface’s voice is Roger L. Jackson.

March 10, 2023 marks the exclusive theatre release of the movie. In the meantime, you can see the movie’s teaser and marketing for Scream in the never-ending city down below.
