Riverdale’s 7th and last season is almost ready to come out on Netflix, and the first video has just been released.

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the show’s writer, posted a sneak peek of the show on Instagram. It showed Archie, Jughead, Betty, and Veronica dressed in clothes from the time period.

Roberto shared the video along with a caption that read: “In honor of @entertainmentweekly FIRST look at our LAST season of #RIVERDALE, set in the 1950’s, here’s a sneak-peek at our beautiful premier episode, coming soon!!”

He continued, “We’re making something truly special this year…in the first look at The CW drama series’ seventh and final season.”

While the details regarding the storyline for the upcoming season are currently being kept under wraps, showrunner has teased that Season 7 will be “in dialogue with the American myth of what the 1950s were versus the reality.”

Riverdale is a drama set in a high school. It debuted in January 2017 and has so far had 117 episodes spread out over six seasons. The last and seventh season will start on The CW in 2023.

The next season will pick up where season 6 ended, when Madelaine Petsch’s character Cheryl Blossom destroyed the comet that was threatening Riverdale’s existence.

But while Archie and his friends were trying to destroy Bailey’s Comet, they were accidentally sent back to 1955, where they are once again in high school but don’t remember anything from before.

Aguirre-Sacasa has said that his cliffhanger “gets solved at the end of episode 1.” The season 6 finale also showed that Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) remembers what happened before the timeline was reset.
