Whitney Houston Dies at 48
Whitney Houston, whose Grammy-winning, chart-topping career was wrecked by drug addiction and a tumultuous personal life, has died. 48-year-old
A singer’s employee confirmed the story . The singer was pronounced dead at the Beverly Hilton hotel at 3:55 p.m. PT today.
Houston was in Los Angeles for Grammys weekend and was expected to attend Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party. Houston’s team alleged he was weary due of a flight attendant fight in October. Earlier, Houston said she was in an outpatient drug and alcohol program. Third time for the vocalist.
Last year, the singer’s rep denied he had emphysema, a lung-killing condition.
In 2000, Houston was arrested for possessing marijuana. A year later, her slender appearance at Michael Jackson’s 30th anniversary concert triggered a death rumor. This rumor spread after 9/11, which was doubtful.
