After his Oscars smack, Will Smith is back with Emancipation. Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, Tyler Perry, and Dave Chappelle attended Will’s newest red carpet showing. Smith said Rihanna has been a fan of his future film since the screening.

Will Smith said that Rihanna enjoyed his film’s cinematography. He said Fenty Beauty founder Rihanna couldn’t get over Emancipation’s look and feel.

The Pursuit of Happyness actor said, “Black folks talk to the screen the whole time, so you don’t have to ask their opinion.” He joked, “So I didn’t need to poll the room.”

Emancipation has had mixed reviews since its debut. Will Smith’s film follows a runaway slave. The film depicts 1860s slavery’s harshness. Smith’s character navigates Louisiana throughout the film. Ben Foster, Charmaine Bingwa, and Will Smith feature in Antoine Fuqua’s action-packed historical drama. The movie will broadcast on Apple TV+ starting 9 December 2022.
