With a new year comes a new list of things to do with popcorn. Here are some of the most anticipated movies coming out in the next year. Keep in mind that movie release dates are always subject to change.

“Magic Mike’s Last Dance”

If you like Channing Tatum’s snake-hipped charm (see how he hilariously stole “The Lost City” earlier this year), you won’t want to miss the last movie in Steven Soderbergh’s trilogy about male entertainers (don’t call them strippers), in which Tatum’s character, Mike, tries to train a new group of dancers for one last hurrah. (Feb. 10)

“Chevalier”

Costume drama alert! Kelvin Harrison Jr. plays Joseph Bologne, a real-life Black composer who became famous in 18th-century France and had a relationship with Marie Antoinette (Lucy Boynton). Stephen Williams, who has worked on TV shows like “Lost” and “Watchmen,” is in charge of directing. (April 7)

“Next Goal Wins”

“Thor: Ragnarok,” “What We Do in the Shadows,” and “Reservation Dogs” director Taika Waititi might be pretty good at a sports comedy, right? This one is about the American Samoa soccer team, which was called the worst in the world after a 31-0 FIFA loss, and their new coach (Michael Fassbender). (April 21)

“Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret”

I read this Judy Blume book when I was a kid, and maybe you did, too. Abby Ryder Fortson, who played Cassie in the “Ant-Man” movies, plays Margaret. Rachel McAdams plays her mother, and Kathy Bates plays Margaret’s grandmother, Sylvia. (April 28)

“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”

Miles Morales, who was voiced by Shameik Moore in the 2018 animated adventure “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” is back for a long-awaited sequel. Yes, the name is a bit dull, but the movie should be pretty cool. (June 2)
