On Monday, filmmaker Subhash Ghai celebrated his 78th birthday by throwing a star-studded party at which he invited many of his longtime friends and frequent business partners. Everyone attended the party, including Kartik Aaryan, Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Shatrughan Sinha, and Jackie Shroff. Jackie gave Subhash a plant as a gift and begged the photographers to calm down as they snapped pictures of him at the entrance gate.

Kartik Aaryan showed up to the party wearing blue denim and a blue t-shirt. Although he hasn’t yet collaborated with Subhash Ghai, he was one of the very few members of the new generation to attend the party. Meezaan Jafri, an actor, also attended the gathering.

The reception was also attended by actors Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor, who appeared in Subhash Ghai’s 1989 film Ram Lakhan and 1986 film Karma, respectively. Jackie spoke briefly with the media while Anil Kapoor posed with Anupam Kher. The paparazzi requested Jackie to step aside so they could get in the shot as he posed for them from behind a car. Jackie instructed them to “saans to lebe” (breathe easily) amidst a barrage of requests.

Fans liked his style of talking. A fan commented on the paparazzo video of him from the bash, “Yah wala bahut Jama bhiddu (this one was too good).” Another wrote, “Love you dada.” One more fan commented, “@apnabhidu the best happiness you gift is to others on their occasion is the plant and yes your accent rules saans to Le le.”

Anupam Kher wore a white shirt, black pants, and a black sleeveless jacket, whereas Anil Kapoor wore a beige shirt and beige pants. Anupam and Subhash Ghai collaborated on the 1993 film Khal Nayak, among other projects, while Anil participated in a number of independently produced films, including Taal, Yuvvraaj, Ram Lakhan, and many others.

Along with his wife Poonam, Shatrughan Sinha joined the celebration. He contributed to the films Kalicharan (1976) and Vishwa Nath (1978) by Subhash. Rakesh Roshan, an actor-turned-director, was present at the event as well.
