Billy Idol is a constant sight on Hollywood Boulevard.

Just in time for the 40th anniversary of his self-titled first album in July, the three-time Grammy Award winner. He, was joined by his family, girlfriend China Chow, and his family. As he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday.

Idol said during the presentation, “It’s just strange to be collecting an award like this or being honored in this way.”

I mean, 37 years after arriving here and 47 years after I first joined Generation X, I just couldn’t have imagined something like this, he said. “We began recording music in the middle of the punk rock movement. There wasn’t much to hope for. We made the decision to do what we love even if there is no hope for the future. I actually done just that. The music was played because I enjoyed it. There was no other explanation.”

“I didn’t think I’d be doing this for very long, anyway. We took into account a year, two years, and six months “It was added idol. “This kind of thought would have never occurred to me. It’s simply amazing.”

Henry Rollins, one of the speakers who paid tribute to Idol, questioned why so many people had gathered to honor the punk icon.

“Rock ‘n’ roll and punk rock were in Billy Idol’s bloodstream from birth. He is the genuine deal, so to speak, and perhaps that is why we are here right now “61-year-old Rollins said. “Because he has maintained his identity for more than a half-century, and it takes a lot of courage and integrity,”

Idol’s friends, including fellow Walk of Famer Andy Madadian, actor Clifton Collins Jr., longterm partner Steve Stevens, and Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols, all spoke at the occasion and supported him. OBEY founder Shepard Fairey also gave a speech.
