Remi Bader model and content producer said to presenter Amanda Hirsch on the most recent episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast that she was a little angry that the drug has suddenly become so popular after being prescribed it for “real health issues” in the past.

An FDA-approved prescription drug called Ozempic is primarily used to help persons with Type 2 diabetes control their blood sugar levels. It is injected into the thigh, stomach, or arm. The FDA describes it as the brand name for semaglutide, which promotes the production of insulin and targets brain regions that control appetite.

Following rumours on TikTok that some celebrities had used the medications to lose weight even though they did not have diabetes or clinical obesity, Ozempic has recently become popular on social media.

In the podcast, Bader said that she was pre-diabetic, insulin resistant, and gaining weight when her doctor suggested she try Ozempic in 2020, just after it had received FDA approval.

Bader, who has battled binge eating for years, claimed that it was not the ideal course of treatment for her because it ultimately made things worse. She added that although the drug helped her lose weight, as soon as she stopped using it, her binge eating started up again.

“I need this, they said. And when I was prescribed Ozempic, I had a lot of conflicted emotions, she added. “A few months later, I stopped using it and started bingeing badly.”

Bader said, “I saw a doctor and they were saying, it is 100% because I got on Ozempic. “I lost some weight since I thought I was not hungry for such a long time. I did not want to become fixated on using it in the long run.
