Jamie Lynn Spears sobbed as she reflected on growing up as Britney Spears’ little sister on “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.”

During the Fox reality show’s Wednesday premiere, the “Zoey 101” alum remarked, “Growing up, my sister became famous, worldwide famous when I was very small.”

“I adore her dearly and am incredibly proud of her, but I don’t know. She continued, “Sometimes I feel like I don’t really have anything for myself.

Jamie Lynn elaborated in a confessional that although she is “very pleased” with Britney Spears’ success, she prefers to live in her own “own identity” and “be viewed as [her] own person” as opposed to being surrounded by the pop icon.

She said, “I constantly battle with my self-esteem.

The Spears sisters’ relationship has been tumultuous recently. Britney Spears, 41, claims Jamie Lynn Spears, 31, did not assist her in escaping the conservatorship that their father, Jamie Spears, placed the “Toxic” singer under in February 2008.

In November 2021, a judge in Los Angeles dissolved the legal agreement, and Britney took to social media to criticize her family for keeping her from making her own decisions for 13 years.

When Jamie Lynn included Britney’s name about 300 times in her autobiography in January 2022, the drama reached a head. Britney, a Grammy winner, then sent a cease-and-desist letter, alleging that her sister had “exploited her for monetary benefit.”

However, when Britney publicly commended Jamie Lynn in December for “being so bold, inspiring, and showing guts and glory,” the internet gasped. While some fans assumed the letter was a friendly gesture, others thought the entertainer was being ironic.

Jamie Lynn revealed in an exclusive interview before the “Special Forces” debut that her castmates, who included former Spice Girls member Mel B, “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kenya Moore, Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy, and “7th Heaven” veteran Beverley Mitchell, gave her a new family.

After this, “everyone felt like family,” the “Sweet Magnolias” actress told us. “The moment you set foot on [set], you attach right away. Without all these incredible new individuals in my life, I would not have been able to go through [this].
