Maggie Wheeler actor praised the 17 Again star for being “brave and remarkable” for “helping people” by sharing his drug addiction tale in Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing. “I lost my brother to drug addiction, so I’m no stranger to how difficult a journey it is and a struggle it is,” Wheeler told Us Weekly.

She began by saying, “I am so proud of Matthew and how hard he is battling for his life,” before adding that the actor’s autobiography contained “so many facts” that she “was not aware” of. “He is such a survivor to still be here and to be out and telling his story to the public. He is had challenges that have been so dark and so awful.

She said, “I think it is gutsy and wonderful, and I am sure he is benefiting people by doing it. Wheeler continued by saying that she has not spoken to Perry since finishing Perry’s book. “Just before I left to come on this trip, I said, ‘I really need to write to him and let him know.

In a different interview, the actor recalled working with Perry on the NBC sitcom and stated, “Whenever you get to work with a genius, it makes you better.” “Being able to play off of and enjoy him was a blessing. To remain composed while filming was the most task! Wheeler provided information to OK! The regulars always laughed since they were used to it, but because I was not a regular, I felt a little more tense about it.”
