Marilyn Manson and Esme Bianco agree out-of-court settlement
Esme Bianco and Marilyn Manson have reached an agreeable solution regarding the actress’ claims of sexual assault against the singer.
The ‘Game of Thrones’ actress had filed a lawsuit in 2021 against the ‘Beautiful People’ rocker, whose real name is Brian Warner, claiming he had raped and assaulted her sexually and broke human trafficking laws.
However, it has since been revealed that the case won’t go to trial after they reached an undisclosed agreement.
Esme’s lawyer, Jay Ellwanger, told Rolling Stone: “Ms. Bianco has agreed to resolve her claims against Brian Warner and Marilyn Manson Records, Inc. in order to move on with her life and career.”
In an almost identical statement, Howard King, the attorney for Manson, also confirmed the information.
Esme was the first woman to file a complaint against the 54-year-old singer after his former fiancée Evan Rachel Wood said he had mistreated her. She claimed an event occurred in 2011 and was one of more than a dozen women to come out with accusations against the singer.
Her lawsuit said: “Mr. Warner used drugs, force, and threats of force to coerce sexual acts from Ms. Bianco on multiple occasions.
“Mr. Warner raped Ms. Bianco in or around May 2011.”
The announcement comes just after Ashley Morgan Smithline’s case against Manson, who she had accused of serious sexual, psychological, and physical abuse, was dropped because she had neglected to retain new counsel.
Following the approval of attorney Jay D. Ellwanger’s move to withdraw, Smithline was compelled to select a new representative by December 5, 2022.
The lawsuit was dismissed without prejudice as a result of the model’s failure to comply with this requirement, leaving the door open for a future reopening.
In a statement to the outlet, Manson’s attorney Howard King said: “We thank and commend Ashley Smithline for dismissing her claims against Brian Warner without seeking or receiving anything in return.
“Ms Smithline has refused to be manipulated by others who are trying to pursue their own agendas against Mr Warner. We wish her well and will continue to work to assure that a significant price will be paid by those who have tried to abuse our legal system.”
‘Rock is Dead’ singer Manson previously insisted all his relationships have been “entirely consensual” and accused the women of trying to “misrepresent the past”.
He said in a statement posted on Instagram: “Obviously, my life and my art have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality.
“My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how — and why — others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth.”
