However, the film Gangubai Kathiawadi, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is no longer eligible for a BAFTA.

As part of the BAFTA Awards campaign, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali attended some significant events in London. This time, the director gave his first-ever BAFTA masterclass, during which he spoke at length about his storied Bollywood career. During a Q&A session, he spoke with film students as well. Bhansali had already received a BAFTA nomination for the beloved Devdas, starring Shah Rukh Khan, in 2003.
