Todd and Julie Chrisley will have to report to federal prisons in Florida the next week after their application for bail was denied.

The Chrisley Knows Best performers were found guilty of a multimillion-dollar bank fraud and tax evasion plot by a jury in November, and they were given a combined sentence of 19 years in jail.

Julie, 50, will spend the next seven years in Federal Correctional Institution and Federal Prison Camp Marianna, two and a half hours away, while Todd, 53, will start his 12-year term on January 17 at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola.

According to court documents, the couple’s request for release pending appeal was turned down on Tuesday. Additionally, the court rejected their plea for a 21-day extension of the surrender deadline.

One legal expert who talked to  said that the jails the Chrisleys will be reporting to are “no country club.”

Paul Cambria, a seasoned defense attorney, stated that Julie is going to a camp, which is “still confinement,” and that “camp is the finest place to go.”

“They resemble a college dorm in many ways. Fences, barbed wire, and other items of that nature are typically absent. Although there are monitors, cameras, and other devices, the environment is generally calm “said Cambria.

According to Cambria, “the camps are primarily for white collar, non-violent — a lot of dollars-and-cents kind of offences,” Cambria explained. He continued, “Business people, professionals, lawyers, doctors, dentists, and accountants” make up the majority of the population.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the North District of Georgia, each defendant will spend three years of supervised release upon the completion of their separate prison terms.

Their attorney, Alex Little of Burr & Forman LLP, gave a statement to  in the past that said, in part: “Serious and persistent mistakes were made during their trial, including the government misleading the jury regarding the couple’s tax obligations. We have hope for the future based on these problems.”
