Adele and Ed Sheeran refuse to perform at King Charles’ Coronation?
The invitation to sing during King Charles III’s coronation on May 7, 2023, reportedly got the cold shoulder from Adele and Ed Sheeran.
According to The Mail, King Charles III informed his team of planners that Adele will play at his impending Coronation concert.
The concert’s organisers were apparently informed that Ed Sheeran is occupied and will be unable to play at the royal event at Windsor Castle on May 7 despite the singer’s alleged lack of invitation, according to individuals close to him.
A source who is working closely with the project shared, “The King has suggested a number of people he would like to perform and Adele and Ed were on that list.
He was very keen that they were part of the concert.” Continuing further he added, “There is a team set up to get the talent signed up but they were unavailable, which was a massive disappointment. They are titans of the showbiz industry and are quintessentially British but also known across the globe. It’s such a shame.”
Only one day before the Coronation event scheduled for May 7, Ed Sheeran has a performance in Texas on May 6. Insiders believe that if the Shape of You singer takes a private plane, he will still arrive on time after the nine-hour flight.
In June 2022, Ed Sheeran sang his song Perfect to honour the late Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh as he closed the late monarch’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant.
