In ways it has never before, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is growing. While the multiverse was first introduced in Spider-Man: No Way Home and its dangers were further explored in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU’s next major antagonist, Kang the Conqueror and his numerous variations, all portrayed by Lovecraft Country actor Jonathan Majors, are finally introduced in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

While talking about the end credit scene to a local US entertainment media producer Stephen Broussard talked about a hint at an infinite number of Kangs ready to face off against the Avengers and any other number of heroes, including Loki, who meets Victor Timely, a Kang variant, in one of the post-credits scenes in Victorian London.

According to Broussard, the end tags were created “late in the process” of filming the movie and naturally evolved along with the story.

The three Kangs selected for the movie, according to him, were strategically picked because they had “notable arcs” in the comics, making them known to fans.

But, he claims that the prospect of an endless number of Kangs speaks to “possibility” for the MCU’s future. “It seems that anything is on the table,” he says. “We’ve seen radically different versions of this character, where does it go next? It could go to so many places, and the unknown of that is exciting. Far be it for me to tell the kind of film for Destin [Daniel Cretton] to make, and for my colleagues to make, [it] is in good hands with that stuff. But just the notion of so much possibility being on the table is exciting.”
