The 44-year-old actor shared the embarrassing tale in a recent interview with Esquire, saying that he and his wife, Mila Kunis, were at a party hosted by their neighbor when they met “this exceptionally well-known musician, who is perhaps the best vocalist today.”

Styles, 29, stood up and began to perform an ABBA song there.

“I’m like, ‘Oh my God. It’s bananas,’” Kutcher remembered. “So this kid gets off stage, and Mila and I go up to him. And we’re like, ‘Man, I got to tell you something, you’re a ringer. You’re like a karaoke ringer. You’re really good … like, really good.’”

The vocalist of “As It Was” kindly disregarded the social faux pas.

He responds, “He’s like, ‘Thanks, man. Thank you, I really appreciate that.’ So we go to our friend and we go, ‘God, that guy was really good, huh?’ And they’re like, ‘It’s Harry Styles,’”

And I thought, “Who’s that?” Mila exclaims, “It’s the boy band member.” He’s a professional singer,'” the “That ’70s Show” alum continued, confessing that he later felt like “a jerk.”

He sings professionally. And we’re trying to convince him that he can sing well. And I really regret it. I’m sorry, Harry Styles, but you’re pretty excellent at karaoke, guy, and I just really want to express that. Seriously, this is excellent.

Styles later moved on from singing at Hollywood karaoke parties and with his One Direction colleagues to start an incredibly successful solo singing career, which Kutcher is well aware of by this point.
