Claire Foy discusses her 20s struggle with mental illness
Claire Foy has talked about how she struggled with her mental health when she was in her 20s and working on important acting roles at the beginning of her career. In a recent interview with The Guardian, Foy disclosed that she struggled to deal with early career success, which had a negative impact on her mental health.
“I was not sleeping or eating all that much. I was not really having fun with my life when I was at the National Theatre, the 38-year-old recounted. All of my core beliefs about myself, Foy added, “were not very positive, and success was in conflict with who I believed I was.”
After experiencing a mental breakdown, the star sister of The Crown encouraged her to seek out therapy to address her emotional wellbeing. He supported me in getting through it, Foy said. However, it was quite intimidating.
The actress said, “I felt like I was 1,000 years old. The Wolf Hall actress said she “felt like life was serious” and that she “could not take her career for granted.” “I do not even know why I have been granted this opportunity, I was thinking. I can not damage it, the actress said. “I am extremely pleased that I am not doing it now,” she continued. It was draining.
