The quantity of songs Honey Singh writes for Bollywood movies has decreased. Selfiee, a 2023 Bollywood movie starring Akshay Kumar and Diana Penty, has his first song. The lyrics for Kudi Chamkeeli were also penned by the singer-composer. Akshay and Diana can be seen dancing in the video to the upbeat dance song. The song video includes a disclaimer at the bottom stating that it is only for promotional purposes and will not be included in the movie.

Diana first appears in Kudi Chamkeeli as she enters a mall courtyard where she meets Akshay. She hangs out with her buddies as the actor tries to win her over with the song. At the end, Honey Singh also makes an appearance in the video and makes an attempt to talk to Diana, much to Akshay’s displeasure in the song.

Diana and Akshay are both dressed colourfully in the Kudi Chamkeeli. Diana Penty’s outfits for the dance music in the video actually make her shine. The song’s and the video’s pacing are both rather sluggish. To make the song more lively, it may have benefited from a little faster beat. Prince Gupta choreographed the single, and Ahmed Khan directed the music video.

In the YouTube channel’s comment area, fans praised Honey Singh’s homecoming. One supporter said, “2023 is Honey Singh’s year. Nothing feels better than seeing our icon getting back on track.” Yo Yo is back, another fan exclaimed. “Those childhood days with YO YO Honey Singh pure nostalgia truly feeling the OG Honey Singh feelings in this song.” Later this year, the singer-composer is reportedly singing a song on the Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan movie, which stars Salman Khan.

Emraan Hashmi and Nushratt Bharuccha are also featured in Selfiee. Raj Mehta directed the Hindi version of the 2019 Malayalam film Driving Licence. Together with Driving Licence’s star, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Akshay serves as the movie’s producer. Dharma Productions, Magic Frames, Prithviraj, Cape of Good Films, and Star Studios are the producers of Selfiee. The Hindi movie, which was written by Rishhabh Sharrma, will open in theatres on February 24.
