Hugh Jackman has spoken about his feelings for King Charles and the late Queen Elizabeth II and predicted that Australia will separate from the British Royal Family and become a republic. The British-born parents of the American actor told the BBC that he has memories of royal celebrations as a young boy, including the 1981 wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer.

We had Champagne, the actor remarked. Our home did not have bunting, but my dad would have found some if he could. The X-Men actor told the BBC that the change will be a “natural part of progress” and that “Australia Will Leave British Monarchy And Become A Republic – Inevitable.”

Hugh Jackman clarified his position by stating that he had “no ill will” towards any members of the British Royal Family, noting that he had met the late Queen Elizabeth and her son, the current King Charles, multiple times. I observe and sense a sincere desire to help the people.
