The 2023 BAFTA Awards rap by Ariana DeBose became viral after Lizzo covered it, sending the internet into a frenzy.

The 34-year-old singer of About Damn Time performed DeBose’s popular 2023 BAFTA Awards rap during her gig in Amsterdam on Thursday.

Lizzo, a four-time Grammy winner, engaged her fans onstage in conversation between songs in a TikTok video from one of her recent performances.

“Let’s shake it off,” she said, before taking a line from DeBose’s rap that went viral on the internet: “Angela Bassett did the thing.”

Lizzo looked stunning while performing at a successful musical event while dressed in a dazzling leotard combo.

DeBose over the weekend triggered a ferocious online backlash when she covered Sister Sledge’s We Are Family and Sisters Are Doin’ It for Themselves by the Eurythmics at the 2023 BAFTAs.

The 32-year-old West Side Story actress also included a “cringe” rap in which she name-dropped every female nominee for the UK awards ceremony.

“Angela Bassett did the thing, Viola Davis my ‘Woman King,’ Blanchett Cate you’re a genius, Jamie Lee you are all of us,” she sang as the camera panned to each actress in the room.
