Selena Gomez 30-year-old discussed the backlash she received from fans for some of her interactions with Gomez that were depicted in the documentary and were branded as “toxic” during an appearance on the Chicks in the Office podcast. In a scene from the movie, Gomez’s longtime buddy Stevans questioned her decision to skip a friend’s birthday party and implied that she was unhappy.

It serves as an excellent reminder, in Stevens’ opinion, that when people browse social media platforms like Instagram or TikTok or watch documentaries, they only get a partial image of someone is life. “The truth is that our friendship has lasted ten years because it is authentic and sincere, and I am very appreciative of that. I am glad it was in the documentary because I believe it is crucial to see, and I find it incredible that Selena values honesty in her friendships, just as I do in my own life.”

Stevens remarked, “When it comes to the reaction, “Every time you engage in public activity in life, you open yourself up to criticism from others… If you are not prepared to handle the criticism, you should not even go there.”

The documentary was “a wonderful, amazing piece of work that Selena so vulnerably shared with the world, and that was the main thing for me,” she continued. We were friends, and that friendship, which is wonderful and honest and authentic, was a part of that documentary about her life. In response to a question about how the criticism had affected her, she stated, “When your inner life is strong and you are living a life of integrity, you sleep peacefully every single night.”

“I truly feel confident in who I am because no matter what you confront or go through, there is a calm that comes with leading a life of integrity. I am aware of the type of friend I am “She spoke. Before concluding, Stevens noted, “Anyone really could say anything, but I have a peace that is unshakable.”
