In the four-part documentary The Romantics, Shah Rukh Khan related the details of his final encounter with Yash Chopra.

In his final days, Chopra was working with Khan on the movie Jab Tak Hai Jaan, according to Khan. “He (Yash Chopra) became very emotional after the last shot of Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Then he started crying. He said this could be our last shot. I was like why last shot? Then he said, No there’s no more shots left of you.”

The actor of Veer-Zara claimed that the great director and he had their final encounter at a gathering. “Yash Ji was shivering as I went to hug him. He was feverish. Mujhe bukhaar ho raha hai, he said. I had travelled from a shoot to the event. I ate my meal and everything else. The performer said, “And the next evening we lost him.”

The YRF employee is heard stating in the episode. “I told Shah Rukh that I lost my father. Unhone kaha aap akele nahi hai. Maine bhi apna pita khoya hai. So he also looked at him like his father figure.”

In a number of movies, including Veer-Zara, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Darr, and Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Shah Rukh Khan has collaborated with Yash Chopra, also known as the father of romance. His final film, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, also starred Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.
