Taylor Swift, an American singer-songwriter, is well known for her genre-spanning discography and artistic reinventions. She is also known for making snide remarks about ex-lovers in her songs. However, the country singer made headlines once for mocking comedians Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

The Grammy-winning singer is well-known for documenting her personal relationships in her songs, frequently leaving hints in the lyrics about the subject. She has been linked to a number of high-profile celebrities, including John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylor Lautner, Joe Jonas, Conor Kennedy, and Harry Styles of One Direction.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted the Golden Globes in 2013. The comedians at the award ceremony made fun of Taylor Swift’s love life. They advised the singer to ‘avoid’ actor Michael J. Fox’s 23-year-old son. Swift, on the other hand, was not pleased.

In an interview, the Bad Blood singer responded to the Golden Globes incident by quoting talk show host Katie Couric, who told her that “there’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.” She didn’t stop there, though.

Taylor Swift further said, “For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her, I think that’s taking something that potentially should be celebrated – a woman writing about her feelings in a confessional way – that’s taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little s*xist.”

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler also responded to Swift’s remark. Despite her displeasure with Swift’s remark, Fey described herself as a feminist. Having said that, she admitted she is going to hell for other reasons. Mostly mundane tax issues.

Amy Poehler defended herself, saying it was all in good fun.
