“Batiyan bhujhai rakhdi” is what Vidya wrote when she shared the video on Instagram Reels. The video starts off with a man questioning her in Punjabi why her electricity bill was only 5000 and his was 35,000. She examines the bill before responding to his query by bopping along to the tune of Batiyan Bujhai Rakhdi Ve. The song mentions turning out the lights.

Fans of Vidya and colleagues in the field praised the video. You are tooooooo cute, said actor Shefali Shah. Dabboo Ratnani, a famous photographer, added a heart emoticon to the comments section. “Hahahaha,” wrote a supporter. It’s true! I want to turn off all the lights and fans whenever my electricity bill is high. I can’t quit giggling after viewing this video, another person wrote. “Hahaha constantly making us laugh with wonderful ingenuity,” a further supporter remarked.

Following the recent viral success of a dance video by a Pakistani influencer, the song Batiyan Bujhai Rakhdi Ve gained popularity.

On sometimes, Vidya uploads amusing videos of herself to Instagram. In a video she posted last year, she was seen mouthing phrases from the TV character Anupamaa played by Rupali Ganguly. With all of her facial expressions in place, Vidya remarked while lounging in a bathrobe in an empty bathtub, “The following phrases are used: Main ghumu-firu, naachu gaau, hasu khelu, bahar jau, akeli jau, kisi aur ke saath jau, jaha jau, jab jau, jaise bhi jau… What do you have to do with me wandering around, singing or dancing, enjoying myself, going out by myself or with whomever, wherever, whenever, and however?”

Films like Parineeta, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, The Dirty Picture, Kahaani, and Begum Jaan include Vidya in important roles. Shefali Shah, Rohini Hattangadi, Manav Kaul, and other actors co-starred with her in the Amazon Prime Video movie Jalsa as a TV journalist. She will now appear in Neeyat and a different, unnamed Shirsha Guha Thakurta film.
