When Jenna Ortega made her Saturday Night Live debut this weekend, the audience was blown away.In addition to starring in the smash Netflix hit series Wednesday, Ortega also made an appearance in a funny parody of the horror cult classic The Exorcist. Ortega played a young woman in the parody who becomes possessed, much like Linda Blair’s character Regan MacNeil in the 1973 movie.

An exorcist is called in, but when the neighbors get involved, complain about the noise, and end up aiding with the exorcism, things take a humorous turn. Ortega received appreciation from viewers for her portrayal; one supporter wrote, “She did not break character once! A true professional.

Another comment stated, “She can play every aspect wonderfully,” while another added, “And here I thought Jenna already covered all sorts of horror.” After making appearances in the horror movies Scream and X, Ortega may currently be seen in Scream VI.

Last week, Ortega, who previously played in the Netflix series You, talked about putting her “foot down” at work. “I did not have all the scripts when I first agreed to work on the show. I anticipated it being much darker,” she remarked. It was not… I didn’t know what the tone was, or what the score would sound like.
