Ram Charan and Jr NTR claim they won’t perform a stage dance to Naatu Naatu at the 2023 Oscars
Jr NTR and Ram Charan will perform the iconic song Naatu Naatu...
Lauren Gottlieb, not Ram Charan or Jr NTR, will perform to Naatu Naatu at the Oscars in 2023
The Oscars 2023 will take place on March 12, and American actor-dancer Lauren Gottlieb, who finished second in Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa season 6, is eager to perform on the song Naatu Naatu. The RRR song, which is up for Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards, has gone viral all around the world. In an Instagram post on Friday, Lauren, who has appeared in movies like ABCD: Any Body Can Dance (2013), revealed the “wonderful news” of her impending Oscars performance.
Lauren posted pictures of herself posing with the famous Hollywood Sign in the distance. She captioned the pictures, “NEWS SPECIAL!!! At the OSCARS, I’m performing on Naatu Naatu! I’m incredibly thrilled to represent India on the world’s most renowned stage. Good luck to me!” A response to her article stated, “Very happy for you! I’m going to kill it.” Vishal Dadlani, a singer-songwriter, wrote: “Lauren Gottlieb, whoa! That’s a lot!” There was one additional remark, “Yay!!! Lauren, we’re very happy for you! Interested in seeing your performance.”
In a recent interview, Jr. NTR, who is in the US for the Oscars 2023 with Ram Charan and team RRR, stated that he and Ram will not be dancing to Naatu Naatu on stage. In the interview, Jr. NTR also mentioned the song’s performers, MM Keeravani, Rahul Sipligunj, and Kaala Bhairava. He continued by saying that India would also be walking down the red carpet at the forthcoming awards.
Junior NTR remarked, “I don’t think that’s happening,” when speaking with KTLA (him and Ram dancing to Naatu Naatu at the event). I eagerly anticipated it happening. But regrettably, we were unable to practice. We don’t want to be on the biggest platform in the world without being ready. Hence, we were busy. I was busy, and Charan may have been busy as well due to his numerous prior engagements at home. Thus, I don’t believe we will be performing; instead, the song will be sung by our music director (MM) Keeravani, Rahul (Sipligunj), and my brother (Kaala) Bhairava. I believe it will be enjoyable for me to watch the song from the audience because the moment I watch that clip, my legs have started aching all over again.”
MM Keeravani penned the song Naatu Naatu for the SS Rajamouli-directed historical drama RRR. It has been put forth for the upcoming Oscars’ Best Original Song category. RRR is the first Indian movie to be nominated for an Oscar Award in more than 20 years. The first Indian song to receive an Oscar nomination is Naatu Naatu.
