Jamie Lee Curtis received her first Oscar for Everything Everywhere All At Once‘s best supporting actress category. In her remarks, Curtis thanked the many people who contributed to the production, saying: “I am hundreds of people, even though it appears that I am standing here by myself. There are hundreds of me. What happened to the Daniels?

“To the millions and hundreds of thousands of people who have supported the genre films I have been making for years, we just won an Oscar together!” she exclaimed. I just won an Oscar, and to my mum and father who were both nominated for awards in other categories!

At the 2023 Oscars, Curtis competed against Angela Bassett, Hong Chau, Kerry Condon, and Stephanie Hsu for the title of best supporting actress.

In the movie Everything Everywhere All At Once, Michelle Yeoh plays Evelyn, a middle-aged Chinese immigrant who must save the world, and Curtis plays Deirdre Beaubeirdre, the IRS agent who eventually opposes her. The Daniels (Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Scheinert), who wrote, produced, and directed the movie, received 11 Oscar nominations.
