• Ranbir Kapoor recalled an incident from his school days.
• When he was punished for trying to bunk class.
• He was thrashed by his school’s principal, who held his ears and slapped him towards the corridor.

In order to promote his new movie, Luv Ranjan’s Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar, Ranbir Kapoor has been quite active. The actor was a guest on The Kapil Sharma Show and recalled a time when he tried to skip class and was disciplined by the principal.

Ranbir recently recalled a humorous event in which he was severely beat by his school’s principal in a trailer for The Kapil Sharma Show. “Aisa period chal raha tha jo bohut dull he, toh maine aise… Mujhe yaad he class chal rahi thi… He (proceeds to kneel down): yaha agar ye classroom or waha teacher. Paaji (brother) maine upar dekha toh mera principle aise khada tha… toh main aise class ke bahar sneak kar raha tha. (I recall there being a dull class going on.) Mere kaan se mujhe aisa pakda aur ek corridor hota tha usne aise jhapar marke mujhe yaha lekar gaya… fir usne mera baal pakda mujhe turn kiya aur phir waapis le aya… phir uske baad unhone pucha mujhse ki tum kya kar rahe the

When Kapil challenged Ranbir, “Toh ye nahi bole ki thappar maarne ke pehle kyu nahi pucha (Why didn’t you ask him to ask the question before slapping),” the hilarious event left the audience in splits.

In a previous show promo, Ranbir also discussed Raha Kapoor and joked that some family members have commented on how much she resembled her father or her mother Alia Bhatt. He said that he is grateful Raha looks like them and not someone else. In April of last year, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir got married in their Vastu home in Mumbai. On November 6, 2022, Alia announced the birth of their daughter via an Instagram post. Ranbir recently admitted that he hasn’t felt like going out for work since Raha joined his life and instead prefers to stay home with her.

Next up for Ranbir is the March 8 release of Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar, which also stars Shraddha Kapoor. His forthcoming projects include Rashmika Mandanna and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. The movie, which will be released later this year, also stars Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor.
