Ryan Edwards, a former “Teen Mom” star, was detained on Wednesday for violating a protective order and stalking his estranged wife, Mackenzie Edwards.

The arrest occurred sometime in the afternoon, according to a statement made public by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. No other information was provided.

His arrest comes over a month after he was first detained for harassing 27-year-old Mackenzie, as well as for possessing drug paraphernalia, a controlled substance, and breaking a protective order.

Prior to posting a photo of Mackenzie’s bare chest on social media, Ryan had attacked her for allegedly cheating on him.

He captioned the now-deleted picture, “If you guys have never seen a spineless slut, here is one. “They steal your money and snooze with anyone who glances at them. Nonetheless, they are required to have a wife. What a joke, by God. Really, it’s sad.

The mother of two, who has children with Ryan named Jagger, 4, and Stella, 3, went to the police right after and described a string of alleged domestic abuse episodes that had allegedly taken place since their 2017 wedding.

In a battle in January, she said that “Ryan smashed holes in the walls and doors,” grabbed her by the neck, threw her down in a hallway, and threatened to take her if he couldn’t have her.

“Opened pocket knife, put to my back like he was going to kill me,” she continued. This took place in front of kids. When I attempted to leave, he stole my car keys and broke my phone.

Then Mackenzie described their second altercation, which happened a week later. “[He] came into bedroom where I was laying down,” she said, and “pretended [that] he [was] going to hit my face.”

Also, he allegedly damaged the bed while she was inside of it and yelled “in [her] face.”

She continued, “I went to fetch the kids and go. He refused to let me go. dropped me in the living room. threw nicotine with menthol in my eyes.”

Mackenzie then decided to take matters into her own hands and filed for divorce from Ryan on Tuesday. She was given temporary custody of their children as well as a restraining order.

When Ryan and Maci Bookout starred on “16 & Pregnant,” Ryan first gained notoriety. Bentley, their 14-year-old son, is one of the two.

Fans have since witnessed him struggle with addiction and run into legal issues numerous times.

The former reality television star was detained for breaking his probation on a heroin-related offense in March 2018. This prompted Bookout, 31, to file for a restraining order.

He was detained for a period of time for heroin possession that same year.
