Shakira has finally opened up about the hurt she felt during her breakup with Gerard Piqué. This Friday, Shakira will be a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she will comment on a variety of topics.

Her statement, “I have had a really tough year since my separation, and writing this song [“Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53″] has been extremely essential to me,” was made at that point. She also said, “It is been a beneficial way to express my feelings.

“I genuinely believed that I had no fans at all. have a group of ladies I can confide in who have experienced the same things I have, who feel the same way I do, who think the same way I do, and who have endured just as much nonsense as I have.”

And while I did create the song for myself, I also believe that it was intended for the many other women who needed a platform and a voice to speak for them in a variety of contexts. For those who are unaware, Shakira and Piqué made the decision to split up in June.
