Shakira recently discussed the heartache that followed her breakup with ex-boyfriend Gerard Piqué while wearing her heart on her sleeve. Enrique Acevedo of Canal Estrellas conducted the Spanish-language interview with the Colombian artist. I have to confess that I have always been quite emotionally dependant [on guys], according to People magazine. I was smitten by love. The fact that I was able to learn it from a different angle and believe I will be okay on my own says it all.

“Women get stronger as a result of facing challenges in life. Coming out stronger indicates that you are becoming more aware of your vulnerabilities and learning to accept them. Shakira claims that after the original ordeal, she has “managed to believe that I am enough” by this point, which is something she “never dreamed would happen” before.

“I feel whole because I feel like I can rely on myself and I have two kids who rely on me,” the speaker said. I must ultimately possess greater strength than a lion. Such strength must be the outcome of enormous suffering in order for it to be genuine and not just a façade. Tolerating and accepting that suffering
