Rebecca Ferguson, known for her portrayal of Ilsa Faust in Mission Impossible 7, appeared on the Hey U Guys podcast alongside her co-star Simon Pegg. During the discussion, she revealed the reason behind her eyepatch in the film’s trailer. Contrary to expectations, Ferguson confessed, “You’d think that the reason for the eye patch is a cool one. It is not, alas.”

Pegg playfully asked, “It’s because you can’t wink, isn’t it?” To which Ferguson candidly replied, “It’s because I can’t ******* wink.”

Rebecca Ferguson went on to explain the circumstances, recalling a scene where she was supposed to close her eye for a shot. However, her attempt at winking turned into a funny expression instead. As a result, the decision was made to incorporate an eyepatch into her character’s look. According to Ferguson, there was no deeper meaning behind it, simply a practical solution to the challenge she faced.

In discussing the situation, the 53-year-old actress also highlighted the franchise’s ability to overcome obstacles and adapt. She remarked, “But out of circumstances, beautiful things are… That’s Mission all the way… We hit an obstacle, we pivot, and the pivot always makes it better.”
