Due to his failure to pay taxes on the money he received from American concerts, renowned Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has been denied a visa by the US.

According to reports, in order for the singer to obtain a visa, the US embassy requested that she provide documentation of her tax payments for the years 2015–23.

The Association of Pakistani Physicians of North America has extended an invitation to the O Re Piya vocalist to participate in a musical performance on November 18.

According to the local media, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has stated that he pays all taxes in the US through his promoters and that he has gotten in touch with the relevant parties to obtain the paperwork the embassy has requested.

He emphasized that although he had visited the US earlier in the year, the embassy had not brought up any tax-related concerns at that time. He described it as an effort to malign Pakistan.
