At least four individuals, including a woman named Amina, have been arrested for the abduction and assault of renowned dramatist Khalilur Rehman Qamar. The Organized Crime Unit of the police apprehended the suspects, who are accused of kidnapping and assaulting the prominent scriptwriter, director, and producer.

Local media reports indicate that the suspects were identified through CCTV footage, and the police have also recovered the vehicle used in the abduction. The incident occurred in Lahore’s Bahria Town.

An FIR filed at the Sunder Police Station details that a group of seven men forcibly entered a house where Qamar had been invited by a woman named Amna to discuss a potential drama project.

The writer of “Mere Paas Tum Ho” recounted that the armed men took him to an undisclosed location, where they tortured him and demanded a ransom of Rs10 million, threatening his life. Qamar reported to the police that he was robbed of his belongings, including a cell phone, a wristwatch, and over Rs250,000 in cash from his ATM card.

Qamar also accused the kidnappers of transferring his mobile data to their own devices and forcing him to reveal his password at gunpoint. This harrowing experience left Qamar shaken, as he recounted the details to the authorities.
