Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan recently shared a captivating behind-the-scenes story from his legendary 1981 film Yaarana, disclosing that he endured real electric shocks while filming the memorable song “Sara Zamana Husn Ka Deewana.” During an episode of his popular TV quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati, Bachchan recounted the unusual experience that took place at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Stadium.

The actor explained that his costume included a special “electric jacket” rigged with wires connected to a switchboard. Due to the limited technology available at the time, the wiring was wrapped around his body, and when the power surged, he felt actual electric shocks. Ironically, these shocks prompted him to dance in a manner unplanned by the choreography.

Bachchan humorously described the primitive technology used to create the jacket, which was adorned with electric bulbs powered by wires fed into a switchboard through his feet. What appeared to be a seamless performance was actually the result of Bachchan’s unexpected “shock therapy.” His anecdotes on Kaun Banega Crorepati offer fans rare glimpses into the challenges he faced during his illustrious film career.
