T-Series has released a remix of the legendary singer Reshma’s iconic song “Akhiyaan De Kol” for the upcoming film Do Patti. This move has drawn criticism from several quarters, including Pakistani celebrity Adnan Siddiqui, who expressed his discontent on social media.

On Monday, Siddiqui took to X, stating, “Imitation can be flattering, but not when it means tearing apart a classic by a legend. Please show some respect for Reshma jee and the legacy she left behind.” He emphasized that her music should be treated with the respect it deserves, saying it should not be “reduced to just another sordid rip-off.”

Social media users also voiced their disappointment in the YouTube comment section of the song. One user commented, “Stop stealing Pakistani songs,” while another said, “Seriously!! They’ve ruined one of the best songs.” A third user added, “Reshma ji would have never imagined her song being portrayed this way.”

Originally sung by Reshma and written by Sehrai Gurdas Puri, “Akhiyaan De Kol” has been reimagined by Indian singer Shilpa Rao, with music composed by Tanishk Bagchi and lyrics by Kausar Munir.
