Bollywood actress Ananya Panday expressed her admiration for Pakistani actors Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan at the IIFA Awards.

In an interview, Ananya shared her deep respect for their work, stating, “Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan are two of my absolute favourite Pakistani actors. I admire their work immensely.”

Her remarks have drawn attention from both sides of the border, demonstrating how acting talent is valued in both Pakistan and India. Ananya also discussed her relationship with Mahira on a personal level, recalling her time as an assistant director on the Raees set, where Mahira costarred with Shah Rukh Khan. She explained, “I was an unpaid intern at the time, but the experience gave me early exposure to the inner workings of the film industry.”

Although her debut came in 2019 with Student of the Year 2, Ananya emphasized how working on Raees shaped her understanding of the industry. “Working closely with industry professionals at such a young age had a lasting impact on my career development,” she remarked.

Despite political tensions, Ananya’s appreciation for Mahira and Fawad at the IIFA Awards highlighted the close cultural ties between Pakistan and India, and her remarks were well-received by viewers in both countries.
