Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan, known for his box office hits and versatility, is facing unexpected backlash with his upcoming film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.

As the sequel to his successful 2022 horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, fans were eagerly awaiting the new installment. However, many moviegoers expressed their dissatisfaction and criticized Aaryan’s performance as well as the overall caliber of the film when the trailer dropped online.

Returning to the role of Rooh Baba in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Aaryan has come under fire from several internet users for allegedly “cringe overacting.” The excitement fans had hoped for was not even sparked by Vidya Balan’s return as Manjulika. Along with Triptii Dimri, who plays Aaryan’s love interest, the trailer also introduced Madhuri Dixit as another Manjulika, performing a rendition of the famous Dola Re Dola from Devdas (2002).

Many netizens voiced their concerns on social media. One user shared, “Sorry @TheAaryanKartik I m ur big fan But this time I think director Anees want to finish ur career. #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 will be disaster. Overacting by u is cringe.” Another remarked, “DISAPPOINTING #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 trailer offered no horror, no comedy, and above all no content… Cringe-level overacting by #KartikAaryan. #VidyaBalan’s comedy timing was perfect.”

The overall reaction indicates the film might face challenges ahead of its release.
