Pakistani cinema sensation Fawad Khan has officially started shooting his much-anticipated Bollywood comeback, titled Abir Gulaal, alongside Indian star Vaani Kapoor. An international entertainment outlet verified the news on Monday.

The report claims that Abir Gulaal filming has already started at a number of locations in and around London.

The film, which is directed by Aarti S. Bagdi, is characterized as a heartwarming journey between two people. “The film explores the journey of two individuals who unintentionally help each other heal, with love blossoming as an unexpected consequence,” said Bagdi.

Produced by Avantika Hari, Rakesh Sippy, and Vivek B. Agrawal, the project is scheduled to continue filming in the UK in October and November. The film is expected to be released either in early 2026 or late 2025.

Additionally, rumors have it that Ridhi Dogra and Malaika Arora, two Bollywood actresses, will be joining the cast in the UK next month.

With this, Khan makes his comeback to Bollywood following his 2016 role in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. After ties between Pakistan and India deteriorated after the 2016 Uri attack, the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) and the Film Producers Guild of India banned Pakistani artists, effectively ending his career in the country.
