Priyadarshan’s “Bhool Bhulaiyaa”, headlined by Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan, has gained cult status over the years for its iconic cast, humorous dialogues, and engaging storyline. Now leading the “Bhool Bhulaiyaa” franchise, Kartik Aaryan opened up about the comparisons with Akshay Kumar. He admitted feeling strange about the comparisons and expressed his desire to star alongside Akshay in a comedy film.

In a recent interview with “Bollywood Hungama”, Kartik Aaryan addressed comparisons to “Bhool Bhulaiyaa” star Akshay Kumar. Kartik shared that he has always been a huge fan of Akshay and continues to admire him. He added that he doesn’t feel he can put himself on the same level as Khiladi Kumar.

“Main bachpan se dekh raha hoon. For me, it’s a different thing jab log bolte hain toh mujhe thoda ajeeb lagta hai ki kaise is cheez ko mai bolun. (I have been watching him since my childhood. I feel weird and speechless when the audience compares both of us),” he said.

Kartik Aaryan acknowledged that the comparisons with Akshay Kumar began after “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2”, and fans naturally drew parallels between them. The “Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety” actor admitted that such a comparison isn’t feasible. Kartik also expressed his desire to collaborate with Akshay Kumar on a comedy film, adding that it would be an exciting project.

The psychological horror comedy “Bhool Bhulaiyaa” is a remake of the 1993 Malayalam-language film “Manichitrathazhu”. The film also features Shiney Ahuja, Ameesha Patel, Paresh Rawal, Asrani, Manoj Joshi, Rajpal Yadav, and other notable actors.

Akshay Kumar portrayed Dr. Aditya Shrivastava, a psychiatrist, in the film. Vidya Balan took on the role of Avani Chaturvedi, who is diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder and identifies herself with Manjulika, the ghost of a dancer. Shiney Ahuja played her on-screen husband, Siddharth Chaturvedi.
