While enthusiastically discussing her collaboration with Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, the 32-year-old mistakenly referred to the executive director as “Diddy.”

On October 24, Gomez took the stage at the Rare Impact Fund Benefit at NYA Studios West, captivating attendees in a striking black couture dress. During her speech, she emphasized the charity’s mission to address youth suicide. “I am very honored to be working with such incredible change-makers,” Gomez stated, according to footage from TMZ.

However, while introducing the executive director, she confused the names, saying, “So please join me in welcoming executive director Diddy —,” before quickly realizing her mistake. “‘Diddy,’ sorry,” she joked, prompting laughter from the audience. One attendee filming the speech quipped, “Not Diddy!”

Gomez corrected herself, saying “Didi Hirsch,” and added with an awkward smile, “I really am sorry,” before inviting executive Lyn Morris to the stage. Social media responses were mixed, with one user commenting, “Oh my god, she looks mortified.”

As Diddy’s legal troubles deepen—he currently faces charges including sex trafficking and racketeering—old footage of him with Selena Gomez’s ex, Justin Bieber, has begun to resurface, although Bieber has yet to comment on the situation.
