Actor Vicky Kaushal, son of action director Sham Kaushal, initially envisioned a life outside the entertainment industry.

In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar India, he revealed that he had plans to settle abroad after completing his post-graduation. However, a pivotal moment during an industrial visit to a multinational company changed his perspective.

Vicky, who holds a degree in electronics and telecommunications engineering, shared, “In college, I thought I’d follow the conventional route, maybe settle abroad after my postgraduate degree. But everything changed during an industrial visit to a multinational company.”

During this visit, he realized that a corporate job was not for him. He recalled, “The moment I stepped into that office, I knew it wasn’t for me. I couldn’t see myself stuck in a cubicle; I would be so unhappy.” This revelation prompted him to abandon his plans for a 9-to-5 job and pursue a career in acting instead. He dedicated himself to studying acting, engaging in theater, and auditioning until landing his breakthrough role in Masaan.

Recently, Vicky starred in Bad Newz alongside Triptii Dimri and Ammy Vikrant. He is set to appear in Chhaava, co-starring Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna, and has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War in the pipeline, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
