Vidya Balan is gearing up to charm audiences with her upcoming horror-comedy directed by Anees Bazmee, featuring Kartik Aaryan, Madhuri Dixit, and Triptii Dimri.

In a recent interview with Galatta India, she reminisced about her time working with Dia Mirza on Parineeta, sharing a humorous yet regrettable moment from the set. Vidya recalled how she gave Dia unsolicited advice about treating a stye on her eye.

Having seen her mother apply hot rice wrapped in cloth for similar ailments, Vidya suggested the same remedy. However, the next day, Dia’s condition worsened, forcing her to wear sunglasses during filming. “I will never forget that. I felt so bad. After that, I stopped giving unsolicited advice to anyone. But she never brought it up. She was just too sweet,” Vidya admitted.

Further praising Dia, who has co-starred with her in several films including Lage Raho Munnabhai and Bobby Jasoos, Vidya expressed her admiration: “Now seeing her as a mother is just amazing. I have seen various avatars of her. She makes everything look effortless.”

Dia was last seen in the crime-thriller series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack and recently praised the film industry for finally telling uplifting stories centered on women, noting, “It’s taken the Hindi film industry only 110 years to put Uzma, Manjari, Mahi, and Sky at the center of their narrative.”
